The war between humanity and the Zeal is about to change forever.
Master Sergeant Teve Porter has spent the last year reclaiming the lost cities of Earth from the vicious alien invaders known as the Zeal. With the help of his genetically altered body, Teve is now capable of hitting back at the deadly enemy, matched only by the Zeal hybrids that plague the city centers.
The joint operation between the armed forces of Earth and Mars seems on track to rid the planet of the invaders until Teve is visited by a hybrid from his past known only as X. The half-alien, half-human changes the war forever without Teve realizing.
Captain Bradley Porter hasn't seen his brother Teve in over four years. The two close siblings spent the first three years of the war not knowing if the other was alive. Now, after a long time apart, the two brothers have a chance to reunite … if the Zeal will let them.
When Porter returns to Earth on a surprise trip to visit Teve, he discovers his brother has been cut off behind enemy lines. Without thinking, Porter charges headfirst into danger, flying support aircraft into Zeal infested territory to find him. When he comes out the other side of the fight, Porter discovers a terrible secret about the Special Forces soldiers Command has tried to keep secret.
Will Porter be able to face reality when the time comes? And what will the Zeal do when their backs are against the wall?

Reborn Book 3 of the Reclaim Series eBook JA Scorch
Completed this trilogy, where the author has presented us with a bleak possible future of destruction and war, with a mysterious alien invader. Fortunately, this segment leaves us with a happier outlook toward the future. After all of the strife and pain that his characters have endured to get us here, they deserve a break. This story, just like the first two novels, is heavily into action scenes, to help carry the plot along. Our protagonists learn more about the nanites and their ultimate effect upon the human body. Our ground heros also have some success, with ridding Earth of the entrenched Zeal invaders, just before a new alien fleet arrives to finish the destruction of our little corner of the universe.
I was sorry that the author wasted time developing a character who basically served only a limited delivery function (starts with a P, 5 letters long). I was expecting something more from that character, but alas. I liked the use of nanites, and that the aliens were all controlled from a central location.
Overall, it’s an exciting, action packed story. It will be interesting to see, where the author takes us from here. I think I can foresee another trilogy, this time though, of mankind gaining strength and becoming the invaders. Maybe Mr. Scorch will name the next one “Revenge”.

Reborn Book 3 of the Reclaim Series eBook JA Scorch Reviews
First, the good this series has really great characters, and an interesting take on the "Aliens Invade Earth with Vastly Superior Technology" storyline. The pacing is also excellent, and kept my attention through all 3 books. I would like to read more in this universe. There are also still some unanswered questions I'd like to see answered, such as why the Zeal are the way they are? What led them to so completely mesh themselves with their technology? Is there a greater threat out there? And, will humanity really manage to stay united in the long term?
I like that the female characters are smart, tough, and can hold their own with the men. We don't see enough of that in science fiction. And the fact that the psychological toll on the soldiers wasn't just minimized or glazed over was really good too.
So now for the problems I actually noticed more typos in this book than the previous two, which was distracting. Also, as an American I was sometimes pulled out of the story by the American characters using Australian turns of phrase. And *small spoiler,* I'm pretty sure Atlanta, GA was referred to as the capital of the US rather than Washington. All these issues could be taken care of with a good editor however.
Taken together, while not a groundbreaking classic of the genre, this series was a fast paced, entertaining ride. If you like military Sci-Fi, give it a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is an excellent example of military sci fi, so long as you don't mind the use of a deus ex machina to achieve victory. In this context, and the way it comes about, it actually makes sense and works so I can indeed accept it. As for the rest, the characters remain as strong as in the prior books and continue to develop and the book's plot and overall story arc work well in coming to a thoroughly satisfying conclusion. Bottom mine is that this was a fun book that any military sci fi fan will enjoy.
Definitely recommended.
While I wouldn't class this final book in this trilogy the best of the three, it did deliver a good amount of action. One of the things I have liked about the series, is the fact the author endeavours to write about the psychological effects of prolonged war and the loss of fellow comrades in battle on the survivors. The one thing I didn't like was the fact that one of the survivors of the first prequel short story was killed rather pointlessly. I also felt the technology he (here I refer to the marine soldier in the first short story prequel) had managed to bring back was a little contrived as the alien device offered the solution to destroying the alien fleet; conveniently, Teve was there to figure out the alien tech. That aside, this was still a good book and I have liked the main characters from the get go - hoping there will be a whole new series set in this universe to come )
Only someone with a genuine love of earth and a true respect for military life could paint this story with such realism. Teve and his team of Special Forces had been infected with alien nanites at least a year ago, which gave them huge physical advantages over other fighting forces. The nanites also inspired fear in other troops, so the SF were kept isolated and used hard. In the four years since the Zeal had crushed earth and destroyed its major cities, they had also made mutants of many US fighters, which were entirely too effective against the population of earth.
Teve’s brother Bradley, a Mars fighter pilot, made a surprise visit to earth to catch up with Teve, and fell into some of the worst situations possible before the brothers connected. Their need to help each other out led both into serious trouble—and together they solved a huge problem in fighting the enemy, knowing one of then was under a death sentence.
Although I do not usually read military action stories, I am delighted that I did read Reborn. And I thank JA Scorch for a thrilling, challenging read. I will definitely read the rest of the series!
JAS. Has written the 3rd and essentially the last novel in a 3 part series. The final book indicates how humans manage to overcome the dangers behind the robotic creatures that were able to destroy humans at will. Once the humans discover a way to destroy the half human- half robot machines then the end of the beginning. This is an excellent read for the genre.....ER
