Michelle is getting used to her new life, one with clans, parents, a loving grandmother, and a boyfriend. But her old responsibilities are still around. The police still need her help, and balancing all her obligations is becoming more difficult, but police cases won’t wait for anyone, and when the police call, she has to answer.
It starts out like any other case. Suspicious magic has been reported, and the police need Michelle to help them check it out. When it turns out that the magic is deep in the Cohutta Wilderness Area, Michelle asks Elron to accompany her. It isn’t long before she’s learning just how much she doesn’t know about the woods.
When that small problem turns into a really big problem, spells are flying, danger is everywhere, and only one question remains. Will they escape alive?

I enjoy this series for the action, adventure, mystery and relationship aspects. The ending of this book left me a hanging a bit, though. While "the big stuff" is resolved, there is still that nasty group of witches who were behind-the-scenes culprits. That made me wonder if that is deliberately unresolved and will be addressed in a following book. In general, this book seemed consistently darker than prior ones, though not so much that it put me off. I thoroughly enjoyed the novel.Throughout the series the Michelle and Elron relationship is handled well and a source of both amusement and "awwww." [Confession: OK, I watch the Hallmark Channel, too! LOL.]
This is a superb book series, so don't start here. Start with Book 1. While each book stands on its own, the story arcs start in book 1.

A Witch Rite Witch Path Series Book 5 eBook N E Conneely Reviews
I really enjoyed reading this book. I love how it is written from the perspective of the different characters. It is very engaging ad provides the right amount of suspense.
In this latest adventure we have Michelle and Elron facing sinister magic that no one has ever felt before. There are magical creatures, an evil overlord and a few plot twists that turn as frequently as the maze they're in. All in all a very satisfying read and the ending was pure magic.
4.5 stars.
The adventure continues. This story was loaded with plot twists for Elron and Michelle. In all that they go through unfortunately there is a loss of a continuing character but all ends well for the group There is a suggestion of further evil afoot but for now all ends in a very satisfying way for Michelle and Elron
I liked this book because although it is fantasy, there are also truths. There are current issues included, such as integration of the different species, civil rights, equality, and the issue of taking care of the earth and our resources.
This is another fun entry in this series. I'm very invested in the characters, and I eagerly await each book to see what happens next. This book is slow, but it's not boring, tedious, or dragging. The climax is highly satisfying, and I loved the sappy, romantic ending. I see another Big Bad lurking on the horizon, so hopefully we'll see more of that. Can't wait for the next!
I LOVE this series. I love Michelle's attitude toward life and her interactions with others. She kick ass and takes names and I think she is a fascinating person. The fact that she still withholds taking a life despite the harm that others have caused her gives her character. Elron is great in so many ways that it is hard to explain. The way that he is devoted to Michelle and has wheedled his way into her life so that she can no longer live it without him endeared him to me. Every time a new book in this series comes out, I go back and start the series from the beginning to better savor the latest story.
N. E. Conneely’s five book tale of Michelle a witch working with local police departments to deal with problems like trolls set free from their reservation, and demons. Witch for Hire (ebook) introduces us to her and to Elron, a fifteen hundred year old elf who is mourning his dead wife and getting used modern society. A Witch's Path(ebook) has her facing a demon inhabiting Elron’s dead wife. Though she doesn’t actually fight the demon until A Witch's Trial (ebook) where she and Elron get help from an ancient demon killer. The clans have noticed her and the grandmother she never met wants her as the next head of that clan. A Witch's Concern (ebook) has her dealing with constant attacks from that clan, while her mother marries her father and joins another clan. Finally A Witch's Rite (ebook) sends her, Elron and some cops up into the mountains to investigate strange reports from hikers. They’re caught by someone making magical drugs who traps them in a maze of flowers with plenty of deadly traps. Elron and Michelle relationship has grown enough by then to give this tale enough of a final for the series.Review printed by Philadelphia Weekly Press
